Gender equity in pension provision

Under current pension arrangements, women suffer some of the most acute inequities in the system. Women are most vulnerable under current pension arrangements because they usually receive lower pay, often work part-time and have a lesser chance of an occupational pension. They often have careers interrupted by parenting work, and, although they live longer, they receive smaller pensions.

The Green Party favours the creation of a system of pension provision that does not discriminate against women.
