The Green Party is committed to the preservation and enhancement of Ireland?s freshwater. Our comprehensive policy will reverse a legacy of government neglect that has resulted in unprecedented levels of pollution and a waste of natural and financial resources.

Our policy will not only improve the quality of our freshwater and lead to greater efficiency in water conservation and the delivery of supplies - we can do so by introducing cost-saving measures worth millions of Euros.

For the first time, our national water policy will be led by a commitment to managing demand and ensuring long-term sustainability for our freshwater combined with environmental protection and the preservation of human health.
