Reducing Polling by Two Hours will cut fairness from this election
Green Party Communications | 06.03.2013 | Back to News | News Archive

Green Party Candidate for Meath East, Seán Ó Buachalla today commented on Minister Phil Hogan’s reducing polling hours for the March 27th by-election: “Reducing polling by two hours will disenfranchise voters in the upcoming election, masking this as a cost-saving measure is ludicrous. We have a large commuter-belt community in Meath East and cutting the hours of polling will infringe on their right to have their voice heard.”

Seán Ó Buachalla is a Youth Development Officer with Conradh na Gaeilge. He is responsible for the campaign to have a new gaelscoil recognised in South-East Meath, which ultimately saw the recent official recognition of Gaelscoil na Mí as a new school primary school for that area. He currently sits on the Board of Management of that school.
