Biography
I truly believe that New Ross can do better, if
- we have high quality school buildings.
- we have decent housing for all those who need it.
- we have more playgrounds for young and old.
- we have a cinema that opens on weekends.
Our town schools are doing an amazing job, and are getting results in very difficult circumstances. An assembly hall and indoor sports facilities are basic requirements in any school. The Board of Works recommended upgrading New Ross schools in 1973. We are still waiting! The cost of materials has dropped. Now is a great time to deliver on the long overdue promise of a new school for New Ross.
The housing situation is a mess! How can we have council houses vacant for 2 years, yet more than 200 people on the housing list? This situation is just not good enough!
As the Spokesperson for Health Promotion in the Green Party, my role is supporting schemes that promote good health, e.g. healthy living, healthy local food and maintaining good mental health. We need to keep healthy people healthy. The town needs more playgrounds, safe walkways, cycleways and allotment space.
We need to relax too! We need a cinema that opens at the weekend, where we can relax and meet eachother after school and work.
Finally, as you know, our beautiful historic town has the potential to be a huge tourism centre. Not if it’s covered in litter though! Because of this, I provided 10 dog bins for the town. People are now using these to deposit their dog waste.
In order to continue my work further, I need your support.
I need your vote in this election, so that we can make New Ross better!
