Green Party welcomes new South Dublin City Councillor

We’re delighted to welcome a new councillor to the party following the co-option of Suzanne McEneaney to replace Clare O’Byrne as councillor in the Firhouse – Bohernabreena LEA on South Dublin City Council.

Suzanne has a Master’s in Education with a specialisation in Inclusion and is the head of Special Educational Needs in a secondary school in Dublin 16. She has been a member of the Green Party for many years and has run for election as both a local and general election candidate in the past. She currently serves as Treasurer of the South Dublin County Greens and is very interested in growing membership in the Party’s Firhouse – Bohernabreena group. Among her key goals as a Councillor are the sustainable development of the Dublin Mountains as a local amenity and the issues with affordable housing in her community.

Thanking her Green Party colleagues for their support, Suzanne said:

“I joined the Green Party when I found myself yelling at the news on the radio in my kitchen, and I knew I needed to do more. Since then, the Party has been a fantastic support and resource to me, and not just when I want to give out. It will be a hard job to follow Clare, but I am honoured to be joining the powerhouse that is Cllr Laura Donaghy and the inspirational Francis Noel Duffy TD. I will do my best to achieve our Green goals in South Dublin County Council.”
