My vision for Rathfarnham-Templeogue
I want Dublin to be a city that puts its people first.
What I stand for
I stand for providing professional and effective representation to all of my constituents and working full-time to protect and promote my local community.
- Ensure that people in Dublin South West have the prospect of buying good quality homes. For those who don’t wish to buy, keep rents at reasonable rates and provide new social housing.
- Extending the metro to Dublin South West is a key campaign of the Green Party. Dublin needs sustainable transport –cycling, walking and public transport.
- Ensuring that Dublin South West is defined by people-centred planning. People and communities need to be fully involved in the decisions that affect their lives.
For the last fifteen years, I have been heavily involved in both advocacy and leadership. As a senior manager in the areas of education and social policy, I have represented grassroots communities before the OECD and shared a vision from the TED stage. In the past, I have led two unions, representing over 140,000 people, across forty educational institutions north and south of the Irish border. Most recently, I represented the local community on the Joint Policing Committee for Limerick City. I currently run my own training company.
