Are you passionate about climate, communities and equality? Interested in politics and making positive change?
Experience what life and a career in politics would be like as a paid intern at Green Party Headquarters with our Communications, Operations or Membership teams. Work with local government and national politicians leading on Green solutions for climate and social justice on an action research project that will make a difference in areas like housing, transport, biodiversity or climate change.
The Green Party is committed to providing a range of opportunities for paid student work experience and internships. Green Party internships are designed to widen participation in politics as one of our core Party objectives. The Party is committed to positive action and creating opportunities for students who may not have had the opportunity to engage in the political process previously due to any number of systemic barriers. Students will be selected through purposeful partnerships with third level institutions and organisations committed to positive action and access. In 2021, the Party held a week-long paid pilot internship programme and a one-day pilot programme with students from Trinity College Dublin, providing an avenue for the students to interact with staff and elected representatives at the Green Party. The interns fully engaged in the activities of the Green Party and supported various teams in their work on social, economic, and environmental development in Ireland, developing their research and teamwork skills. The programme enhanced the students’ knowledge of politics and enhanced the confidence of the students to engage in local and national politics. Students who took part in these programmes reported a hugely positive experience, and enjoyed meeting people in different roles, who came to politics from different backgrounds and routes.Watch the videos below to find out more about the experience of doing an internship with the Green Party.
