Leaders of the Green Party have today (31st March) commended Green Party members Cllr Hazel Chu and Paula Roseingrave for their campaigns in the Trinity College Seanad By-election.

Minister Eamon Ryan, Leader of the Green Party stated;

“Hazel and Paula have proven to be champions of climate action and inclusion through their work in the Green Party and beyond. While there was no official Green Party candidate, due to the nature of Seanad university elections, we were fortunate to have two strong female Green Party members who ran their campaigns with passion and integrity. They continue to be integral to the Party as we strive for impact in government and I look forward to continuing to work with them in their respective roles.

“I would also like to extend my congratulations to Tom Clonan who has been elected to the Seanad today.”

Minister Catherine Martin, Deputy Leader of the Green Party added;

“We are very fortunate to have strong female leaders in the Green Party. Both Hazel and Paula have demonstrated resilience, tenacity and empathy; key skills for any woman in politics and indeed anyone with a passion for driving change. I thank both of them for showing leadership and demonstrating how important it is for women to lean in and have our voices heard.”
