O’Gorman calls on Taoiseach to urgently brief opposition leaders on potential use of EU Anti Coercion Instrument

Speaking today, Green Party leader Roderic O’Gorman said:

“If the US takes Greenland, it will fundamentally destroy the relationship between the EU and the US. If President Trump uses EU support for Greenland to increase tariffs then the EU has to use its anti-coercion instrument. Ireland must stand behind Greenland at this time. The Taoiseach must brief opposition leaders urgently on the impacts of the potential use of this anti-coercion instrument.

“We stand with the people of Greenland and their right to self-determination. How Greenland is run is a matter for Greenlanders and the Kingdom of Denmark. This threat from President Trump has to stop.
